A Twisted TurnChapter 1                                                                                            Devin's POV                                  “DEVIN, GET UP RIGHT NOW YOU LAZY BUTT!!! YOU'VE GOT THINGS TO DO BEFORE SCHOOL!! GET UP BEFORE I COME UP THERE WITH MY BELT!!”I wake up with a jolt and fall off my bed. Realizing what he said after I opened my eyes; I knew he wasn't kidding. He's done it a lot if I don't get up. My eyes were still a little hazy so I turned my head and felt for my phone that was sitting on my nightstand with my hand and grabbed it. Holy damn! Why on earth am I up this early?! I thought as I checked the time. It was 6:30 A.M.

  • The Red Phantom

Moonlight shown through the windows causing illusions of monsters and ghosts hiding on the walls against still pictures, Yara’s breathing slowed down. She knew it was coming. The wind began to play tunes with the floor boards. It was getting closer, she could feel it. In Yara’s mind, she saw a beast with huge sharp claws. It had a slithering tongue and its snout drooled acid saliva. A creak near the door made Yara’s senses heighten. It was coming she knew it. Her mind saw it crawling its way up to her, smiling it's twisted smile. Yara's mind began to race, her body felt numb. Suddenly, she forgot how to breathe. A series of questions and thoughts started messing with her head: What should I do? Run! Run, as fast as you can! I’ll fight it! You can’t fight it. I know some tricks. You don’t know shit!! What was that? It’s here! I’m not ready! I don’t know what to do! Yara's eyes flew to the door nob.

  • On Again

Moving to Summer Glen had seemed like such an obvious thing at the time. It was a quiet neighborhood, a little out of the way of the city but not so far as to be inconvenient. Everything was nice--normal--until about a month after Jon moved into his new home. Everyday, he got up in the morning, showered, dressed for work, turned out the lights, and went to his job. Then, he would come home, eat, get caught up with his emails and messages, get ready for bed, and turn out the lights. Then, he would wake up and repeat. The problem was, aside for the first month or so, Jon didn't turn on any of the lights. Every morning, when he woke up, all the lights in his house were lit. Every afternoon, when he arrived home, the lights were lit. After three weeks of this, Jon was sick of it. He was determined to figure this out once and for all. He contacted his power company, but they reported no oddities in wiring. That was when Jon set up the cameras.

  • Moving on is not that easy. . .

Moving on is not that easy, knowing the fact that the person you loved just played with you and took you for granted. How was that? Thinking the days that you thought he is sincere, that he would never ever leave you because you thought thet he's the one.

I was moving through the darkness and got struck by pouring down rain. A dude was running through the street when he was taken out by military snipers. I began to go out into the street until I got struck by lightning. It all started when I was back at the house fixing my early morning coffee for my CEO interview. I got into my Charger to head out to the office. As I was driving a malicious car followed me down 6 streets. I got worried when I was approached at my office by a armed robber.

  • The First Ever Qwikstory

Brian was an intriguing young fellow. He spent his days playing with his thinly grown goatee, wondering what his life would be like if he had taken a different career path. He had always aspired to be a writer, or a politician or a circus clown. Instead, he had foregone these dreams and went to law school. Life as a lawyer was lucrative, but Brian didn't find the field to be overly enjoyable. Little did Brian know, however, that his life would change forever as he drove to work on one rainy Wednesday morning.

  • Stranded and Hungry

Marry opened his sand-crusted eyes and squinted at the searing sun. "What the fuck happened?" he wondered. The first feeling that registered in his brain was the waves of hunger pangs that dug deep into his stomach. As his eyes began to focus, he realized he had been washed up on a deserted island and screenshots of his boating trip with Mavid flashed in his mind. Marry groaned and thought to himelf, "Food... I need some food." As if by magic, he saw a spread of platters just 1,000 feet away... as if a buffet had been laid out to welcome him. He mustered his strength and managed to crawl to the feast. As quickly as his excitment came, it melted away. Tomato and mushroom salad? Refried beans with sour cream? Tuna fish salad with mayonnaise? Sauteed peas? Bagels smeared with cream cheese?? What is all this? "This is not suitable for human consumption!" he screamed. If only he could have a Costco-sized tub of cashews.

  • A Day in the Life of Mavid

There are many interesting people that one encounters, but few are as interesting as my friend Mavid. Mavid was a relatively quiet and friendly young fellow, yet it seemed that that hilarity followed him like a shadow. One need look no further than a few years ago. Mavid wasn't the most timely individual and often found himself rushing around trying to meet deadlines. Getting to work on time fell squarely into this category. One morning Mavid was running particularly late. As Mavid hastily dressed for work, he dashed to his dryer to grab a pair of fresh blue jeans. He quickly grabbed a pair of jeans, slapped them on, and bolted out the door in hopes of arriving at work before his boss. With one minute to spare, Mavid's cheeks hit the chair at his desk. Mavid quickly realized he had a problem. His jeans felt unusually tight. Mavid looked down and his waistline and thought, "I must have gained some weight," but then he saw the problem. He had worn his wife's jeans to work.

He thought to himself.  As he sat there, he wasn't sure where he would want the story to begin, so he sent out some email invitations to the gang.  Surely they will arrive and add to the story.

  • The Giant

I had always been the outcast of my village.  Ever since my mother had run away from our little town, my younger sister Jillian and I had to live with our aunt. We were stigmatized because our real parents weren't around. It kind of made me angry. I thought I'd eventually get used to it, but our neighbors' taunting voices never eased. Everything changed, though, when I met the giant--not necessarily for the better. It was raining hard that day, and my aunt had told Jillian and I to buy some meat from the butcher. I hated the smell of the butcher, so of course, I squandered my time and wandered around the village in order to avoid the smell. Jillian got angry with me because her clothes were soaked, but because I was the older brother, I got my own way. I took her hand and pulled her along, skirting aimlessly along the wooden palisades.  It was Jillian who shrieked first. I thought she was just making a fuss to get me to follow Aunt's orders, but when I looked up, I saw him

  • If only you and your lover left alive

Loving someone and being loved by that someone are never an easy job, even for married couples. It takes a whole lot of effort and the purest of passion to make your love alive even after years or decades or centuries being together with your partner. Once your love is pure and genuine, you will see the world where no one else exists except you and your lover in a whole new perspective. Less conflict and more tender loving. Isn't that the ideal of true romance for human kind?

  • The White cat with Green eyes

There was a knock, a quiet supressed sound. As though it came from another dimension almost. Gemma chose to ignore it at first, it was probably just some woodpecker or something anyways. She buried her face into her pillow and closed her eyes to sleep again. Just as she was on the brink of slumber she heard a dry sliding noise. Her eyes opened wide, her heart skipping a beat. The sound was no longer far away, but just outside her room. It could have even been on her door. She slowly sat up, cringing at the creaks her bed made. Then she stood and carefully walked to the door and gripped the nob."Gemma don't be a scaredy cat you wuss." She whispered to herself. Slowly, she opened the door and turned on her bedroom light. Just outside the door there was a small white cat with green eyes staring up at her. She smiled "aww". She bent down to pet it but noticed it's paws were blood red. "Did you catch a mouse kitty?"Gemma looked down the hallway to see bloody footprints leading downstairs....

  • Falling In Love at a Coffee Shop

Cafe Hardbean was always somewhat crowded around noon. "Good," I thought, "The more people there are, the more I can blend in." I ordered a medium sized coffee and sat down. This was a normal routine for me. Working 9-5 during the week was a little exhausting, and getting the occasional break in between to relax was definitely needed. At 22, I had recently gotten an internship and was anonymously living in Pittsburgh with my two cats. I sat near the corner, pulled out my book, adjusted my hair, and was 5 pages into the chapter when I was disturbed by someone. "Whatcha readin'?" "Hmm?" "I said, whatcha readin'?" I looked up to see a slender, tall guy with horn rimmed glasses and comfortable clothing. Shy about revealing my book taste, I quickly showed him the cover. "Is it any good?" he asked. "Yeah," I said, "if you like romance." Raising an eyebrow, he took the liberty to take the chair next to mine. "I love romance. I love that book. I checked it out from the library two days ago."
